Project 4

Summary

In this project, we undertook a significant and comprehensive roof remodel that required extensive work and attention to detail. The first step in this process involved the careful removal of the old roofing materials, which had deteriorated over time and no longer provided the protection needed for the structure beneath. Once the old materials were removed, we conducted a thorough inspection of the underlying structures to assess their condition.

Following this assessment, we proceeded to replace most of the plywood sheathing, ensuring that the new materials were of high quality and suitable for long-lasting durability. This was a crucial step, as the plywood serves as a foundation for the roof, contributing to its overall strength and stability. After securing the new plywood, we moved on to replace the gable boards, which are essential for providing support and contributing to the aesthetic appeal of the roofline.

Additionally, we took the time to inspect and replace any rotten siding that we encountered during the remodel. This involved carefully removing the damaged sections, treating the underlying areas to prevent future decay, and installing new siding that matched the existing structure both in appearance and functionality. This meticulous attention to detail ensured that the roof remodel was not just a superficial upgrade but a comprehensive restoration that would enhance the longevity and integrity of the building. Throughout the entire process, we prioritized quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards, making certain that the final result would be both visually appealing and structurally sound.
